GadaaPay — Data Deletion Policy

Effective Date: January 2025

Last Updated: January 2025

Version 1.0 — United States Only

1. Introduction

This Data Deletion Policy explains how GadaaPay LLC (“GadaaPay,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles requests to delete personal data and under what circumstances data can or cannot be deleted. This policy applies to all users, including individual wallet users and business account holders.

2. Your Right to Request Data Deletion

You may request that GadaaPay delete your account and certain personal information. Once we receive and verify your request, we will begin the deletion process.

Deletion requests may be submitted by contacting us at support@gadaapay.com.

3. What Data Can Be Deleted

We will delete or anonymize the following data when you request account closure:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, and profile information

  • Your device information

  • Saved contacts and preferences

  • Payment methods stored in the app

  • Non-regulatory personal information stored in your profile

This deletion applies to data that is not legally required to be retained.

4. What Data Cannot Be Deleted (Legal Requirements)

Because GadaaPay operates as a financial service platform, we are required by U.S. law, financial regulations, Stripe requirements, and anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations to retain certain information—even after you request deletion.

This includes:

  • Transaction history

  • Payment records

  • Wallet balance records

  • Fraud and security logs

  • Identity verification data (government ID, SSN last four)

  • Business verification data (EIN, business documents)

  • Account activity logs

  • Regulatory reports

  • Chargeback or dispute information

These records must be kept for 5–7 years, depending on regulatory requirements.

Even after account deletion, this data must remain stored securely for compliance, investigations, AML requirements, tax audits, and financial reporting.

You may request a copy of your retained data, but it cannot be deleted before the legal retention period ends.

5. Financial Transactions Cannot Be Deleted

For security and compliance reasons, financial records—including money sent, money received, merchant payments, refunds, disputes, and withdrawals—cannot be removed from our database. These are required for:

  • Audits

  • Fraud detection

  • IRS reporting

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Regulatory controls

  • Law enforcement requests

This applies to both individual and business accounts.

6. Account Closure vs. Data Deletion

When you request deletion, your account will be:

  • Permanently closed

  • Disconnected from your device

  • Disabled for future login

  • Removed from the active user system

But data required by U.S. law will remain stored securely until it can be deleted legally.

7. How We Protect Retained Data

Any data required to remain in storage is:

  • Encrypted

  • Access-restricted

  • Stored using Stripe and secure infrastructure

  • Protected under strict compliance environments

  • Never used for marketing

  • Never sold

  • Never shared unless legally required

Once the retention period ends, the data is permanently deleted or anonymized.

8. How to Submit a Data Deletion Request

To delete your account or request removal of eligible data, email:

📧 support@gadaapay.com

Please include:

  • Your full name

  • Phone number associated with the account

  • A brief statement requesting deletion

We may ask for identity confirmation for security.

Most deletion requests are completed within 5–10 business days, except for regulated data that must be retained.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Data Deletion Policy to comply with new laws, regulatory requirements, or operational changes. Updates will be posted on our website with a new effective date.
